Tropical Cyclone Idai has been one of the worst tropical cyclones recorded to affect the African continent, causing immense damage in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi in March 2019.

This collection includes relevant social science intelligence on the context of affected areas in the provinces of Manica and Sofala in Central Mozambique, as well as an analysis of health systems and health-seeking behaviours in the context of the cyclone response.

Commissioned by the community engagement pillar of the response, the reports include key considerations on social and cultural factors and recommendations for cholera and malaria response, as well as for vaccination deployment.
